Our MissionThe Wings For Kids Foundation is a charity especially dedicated to children from rural communities where general aviation has diminished or is non-existent. Our mission is to further our youth’s appreciation and understanding of the past, present and future of aviation by sponsoring various levels of General Aviation Education. We pledge to help any child who wants to pursue an interest in aviation, funds permitting. The Wings For Kids Foundation receives funds through corporate and individual donations, grants from other foundations and planned fund-raising events. Donations are tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes as we are a 501(c)(3) charity. Some of WFKF’s past projects include
sponsoring First Flights and donating aviation related books to interested
children. Future plans include
establishing a display site for aviation artifacts, educating through seminars,
workshops, videos and training, and establishing access to educational material for children
in rural communities. We
collaborate with schools and youth clubs by connecting with young people who
dream of flying or pursuing an aviation related career. It is our goal to
provide access to aviation for children who would not otherwise have the
opportunity to learn about aeronautics. All flights are provided by single-engine
airplanes like the Cessna 150. "I
hope that I have encouraged others to work for careers in aviation and science--
especially students unfortunately labeled as disadvantaged, for that would be
